Hamsey Place Farmhouse
Hamsey, near Lewes
East Sussex BN8 5TB
10am – 6pm for two weekends: 18/19th May and 25/26th May 2019
For two weekends in May, Nick Bodimeade’s studio will be turned into a gallery for his latest collection. This will also be an opportunity to browse available work from the back catalogue and meet the artist. The studio is walkable from Lewes, alternatively there is parking in the signposted field.
There will be large canvases, small panel paintings, drawings and prints from many different periods. Some will be exhibited alongside the new paintings: ‘My interest in landscape and what we do in it has taken many forms over the years – with paintings of trucks and motorways, storm and fire ravaged woodlands, snow dusted mountainscapes, beaches and bathers, skyscapes and vapour trails, New Zealand bachs and Texan hurricane-proof summer houses, romantic rural lanes and currently the landscaped gardens of grand country houses. What I think ties these together are the seductive pleasures of space, light and elemental physical experience common to both subject and the making of painting,’ writes Nick.
